On my newest ideology playthrough im noticing the wild animals keep reproducing at stupid rates. as far as butchering them, i think i read or heard that the meat you get is dependant on species and age, but if i keep the dogs around till they are older they tend to bond with the colonists. Also note that: Tamed animals don't mate constantly. Wild animals don't reproduce. They just get pregnant every day and even the "age 0" ones get pregnant and spit out offspring like there's no tomorrow.
